Clinton River Trail Master Plan

Overview

The Clinton River Trail is a proposed multi-use path that travels nearly 16 - miles through the eastern half of Oakland County, Michigan.  The trail roughly parallels and frequently crosses the Clinton River.  While primarily located on an abandoned railroad grade, the proposed path includes a portion over four miles long that circumnavigates a gap in railroad corridor ownership.  The surrounding landscape includes downtowns, industry, residential areas, parks, and some sites likely to see development in the near future.  The two most significant challenges of the project were designing the 18 major road crossings and determining the best way to circumnavigate the gap in ownership in Pontiac.l
