The City of Mt. Pleasant, Union Township, Isabella County, The Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe, Central Michigan University and other organizations are undertaking a collaborative effort to prepare a non-motorized transportation plan. The plan will make recommendations for bicycle and pedestrian improvements as well as suggested policies and programs that support and encourage walking and bicycling. The project is made possible by a grant from the Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe and is being administered by Union Township.
This effort will be coordinated and designed to complement the goals of other redevelopment, trail planning, energy efficiency, stormwater mitigation, recreation, wayfinding and community enhancement efforts. Together, these efforts will help the Mt. Pleasant area continue to be an attractive place to live, work, go to college and play.
Goals and objectives for this project were created based on public input from the Web Survey and from the Project Visioning Workshop. Please click here to download the Project Goals and Objectives.
This project was submitted for a TIGER III Discretionary Grant. Click here for more information.
