City of Novi Non-motorized Master Plan

Overview

The City of Novi is continuing its efforts to promote healthy, active lifestyles through the creation of a comprehensive non-motorized transportation plan.  The plan will result in a clear vision and implementation strategy to establish a safe, convenient and enjoyable environment for bicyclists.  Pedestrians and other non-motorized users.  The public was encouraged to participate in the creation of the plan through a web based survey and two workshops.

The Michigan Association of Planning selected the Novi Non-motorized Master Plan for the Planning Excellence Award for Best Practices in 2011.

Public Workshop:

Two public workshops were held to get input from the community.  Thanks you to everyone who was able to attend.

Project Visioning Workshop

This workshop was held on Wednesday, September 29, 2010 from 7:00pm to 8:45pm.  During this workshop participants expressed their hopes and concerns and identified areas in the community where different types of non-motorized elements would fit.  Click  to view the workshop presentation.

Project Visioning Workshop

This workshop was held on Tuesday October 26, 2010 from 7:00pm to 8:45pm.  During this workshop participants prioritized and evaluated the Draft Non-motorized Network Plan.  Click here to view the workshop presentation.
